Re: Jackdaw

How lovely Abbey.

However, the downside is, it's very tameness could be it's downfall eventually.

Re: Jackdaw

They're highly intelligent birds. My mum had one that she found as an abandoned chick. She took it in and looked after it and it became another member of the family, living in the garden, always hopping around when we were out, sitting where we were and quite happy with the dog and cats. It was quite safe and lived out it's life quite happily, I suppose, never having to go hungry.

Re: Jackdaw

This might sound daft to some , but when my first dog died , a Blackbird started hanging round the house , nothing unusual but it arrived the day after my dog died ( Black Lab )and the black bird had a white marking on it ,which my dog too had ..

Re: Jackdaw

Probably just wants a bit of food, they will eat anything. You can have my Jackdaw's if you like, I've got about ten of them, I feed my birds every day, but they come down and take the lot, they are really greedy, I have to put another lot out there.

Re: Jackdaw

Just remembered that the jackdaw was called Smith, no idea why it was called that, but it lived in the trees in the garden and would come down and perch on your shoulder. It would also come when called.
