Re: Fog

Yes, I often can remember the longer bank account number better than the PIN. If I can't remember things I have to walk away, clear my mind and then come back to it later, best NOT to even think about the number - and it just seems to be there after all

Re: Fog

Jean I don't use 'the hole in the wall' but on paying in shops with my card my mind has gone blank a few times or I could only remember my online banking number I felt such a fool . It happened in Waitrose only last week, luckily I have my number disguised inside a list of phone numbers and hidden in my bag.

Re: Fog

Always Jean, when I am paying in a shop by card with everyone looking at me. Now, ask me for my RAF eight digit number from back in the 60s and I'll reel it off.

Re: Fog

I actually put my card in the device at the supermarket checkout once, entered the first number....then my mind went blank I apologised and tried a couple more times with the queue looking on ..... no, I still couldn't recall it so I paid with cash in the end.

I bet the queue thought what a dippy woman I was!

Re: Fog

I once went to the ATM and for the life of me I could not remember the PIN number I'd had for years.

I've never remembered it so I had to ask the Bank to give me a new PIN number. I did feel daft.

Re: Fog

You would'nt think it difficult to remember 4 digits, but for some reason you sometimes panic when a mist comes over you. My trick is associate the numbers with relevant dates, ie. birthdays, anniversaries or maybe a date from history.

Yep, sure did. Even funnier was that he didn't even look at it and actually put it in the machine before we found out...
