Canned Bread

Just been watching a tv program "How Do They Do It".

Canned Bread, as in tinned bread, which has been manufactured in the US since the 1920s.

Have never heard of it in the UK. Have you??

Re: Canned Bread

Good lord, sounds absolutely revolting. Not something I'd ever consider trying.

Re: Canned Bread

Probably a traditional thing to go with the canned beans they eat while on the trail herding the cows.

Re: Canned Bread

I bought one years ago from Aldi, and it was dough in a can....it was the size of a tin of pringles. You opened it, took the dough out and put it in the oven. It tasted bland, so I learned to make my own!

I'm sure I remember bread in a tin when I was much younger.

In the US, it's pre-cooked:

You have to wait awhile - he has trouble using a can-opener .....
