Transition period for transtion period???

I see some lord or other is insisting we accept the EUs offer
of atransition period for fishing talks??
Hasnt he realised the EU are only joking?
They have no intention of agreeing anything, that much is evident
now for all to see!! The last 4yrs have been an opportunity for
EU to try and humiliate Uk as a lesson for others in the EU?
What upsets me the most though is that many of my countrymen,
most of them in high places, either support or actively work to
further the EU cause no matter what that entails !!
Imo, Boris must now make a public announcement to the effect
that it is now clear there can be NO meaningful agreement with
"our freinds" in europe and consequently we shall be trading on
WTO rules in january !!
Its time to end all the bluff and double bluff now, as any further
delays are only to the EUs advantage !!

Donkeyman! 👍👍

I agree with you Donks. It's just a pity that the HoL is full of twats like that Lord and the sooner it is reformed or abolished altogether the better.

IMHO, all Boris and Frosty have to do is sit back and twiddle their thumbs until the end of this month. They don't have to say or write another word. They could even play tiddlywinks or conkers for all I care just as long as they DO NOT CAVE IN!

And after that Boris can do the other things we voted for - which include reforming the Lords and reforming the Civil Service!

The 27 are getting mighty worried.

Apparently, Boris told Von der Leyen to get rid of Barnier because he is holding up progress when he had dinner with her on Wednesday

Look at it this way, if the EU do cave in (which they will most likely) .... Boris Johnson will be the toughest leader of the 28. The EU will look very small compared to the UK in terms of leadership.

Whilst we await the details of whatever was agreed today, my cynical thinking is that the transition period, for completing , for example, the Fishing arrangements, will, surprisingly, be set up so that the EU fish snatchers don't have to stop snatching, until a date after the next election.

That would give both sides (e.g. Boris and Macron) a "get out of jail free" card, for fishing, and other deals.and a safe run in to their re-elections.

Everyone would then be able to play the hero!

I wait with baited breath!

Oh, isn't it a shame that their lordships may only have one vote in a GE like the rest of us plebs?
I'm sure they'd really like to go back to the good old days when we peasants weren't allowed to vote.

Ordinary folk who live in 'the real world' would have sorted this in half the time.

HOL just political sinecures for mediocre former MP'S.
