So which country in your view would be an example of the ideal model of government structure? France?

Take a look at France ,they did away with their royals and now have nothing like us to offer
Not so RS
Tourists don’t come to the U.K. to see the royals - just as well because they are unlikely too. They come for the palaces and so forth . France has far more tourists than us and they have plenty to offer - the palace of Versailles for one.

But the palaces here are more exciting for tourists because they know that living royals exist and pass though the gates. That is a bit of a draw for some. Plus of course all the pomp of dressed up guards on horses.

Really! You would have to be blind and deaf if you haven't seen the the thousands of people who gather to see the pomp & ceremony when the Royals attend a celebration in London. Foreigners come to see where the royals live... do you really think Buckingham palace would get so many visitors if the royals did not exist?

There will always be people who object to the royals, but so many more people love having a monarch that is respected by people in this country & abroad.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to see proof that they don't bring money into the UK.

A study by the Brand Finance Network estimated that in 2017 the monarchy generated a gross uplift of £1.766bn to the UK economy.13 Oct 2020

A new study implies that the British Royal Family are a bargain for the taxpayer! The Queen and the British Royal family 'works harder' and is 'more value for money' than many of their European counterparts – a new study has found. ... This works out as £1.14 per year, per British taxpayer.28 Sept 2020

If people want to see our historical and architectural sites why don't they go on a quiet day, when the people who like the royals are are watching a royal wedding or other significant royal events & why are these places unable to finance their own upkeep if they are so popular?

How many world leaders dedicate their lives to their country, as our queen has done?
I am happy to give my £1.14 a year because, despite some people's objections to them, I believe they have been worthwhile & hope they continue!

Switzerland is a funny place, French German and Italian, not really it's own nation as such.

When the Duke of Edinburgh talked about his views on the subject in Canada in 1969, he spoke with surprising nuance. He said “It is a complete misconception to imagine that the monarchy exists in the interests of the monarch. It doesn’t. It exists in the interests of the people. If at any time any nation decides that the system is unacceptable, then it is up to them to change it.” Over half a century later, his spouse remains that country’s monarch, indicating that the majority of its inhabitants have no desire to bring about this change, any more than those in Britain do.
Absolutely certain that Monarchy will survive, just a few adjustments needed.
