I'm inclined to say lenses and radio but, given how much we all love the PC now, maybe I should say broadband, as I can get my radio plus music, email and all the other wonderful web features too.

2 things I couldn't live without would be 1) friends 2)computer

By the way I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old. 3 years ago I was offered an operation to have a cataract removed and whilst it was being done, a long sighted lens was inserted. 6 weeks later I had another operation done for a lens to be inserted in the left eye so now I only wear glasses for close work - all on the NHS - wasn't that fantastic!

Definitely my washing machine and I wouldn't be able to see much without my specs, so those two things I really couldn't live without.

Perhaps we ought to have another thread about "unnecessary" things we couldn't live without?

Joy, I've had cataract surgery in both eyes; what a difference it made. I need glasses for distance only. I chose close vision lenses as I don't drive or do any sports, but am an omnivorous reader and spend hours on the computer.
