Don't suppose it's compulsory, but they always smell & I like mine to smell of my laundry.

I stripped the bed after you said that and replaced them with other ones....I don't mind the smell of new sheets, to be honest but now I'm washing them :lol washing them does make them more your own, it just never occurred to me before.

I wash everything new before I use it.
I read once that new clothes, towels, sheets, undies, etc, have manufacturing chemicals in them.
Don't know if its true, but give everything a quick wash before I use it, just incase.

I wash new linen & clothing too, because of the way it smells, but I didn't know about chemicals. Guess they are in clothing as well then.
