"If I Were The Marrying Type , which Thank The Lord"-"

Back in the 1960s, there were many songs & games which young chappies. like me, would get involved in - out there in the world, as Sailors, soldiers, or whatever we were..

Everyone seemed able, back then, to remember all the songs & games and all of the words therein.

Here are a few first lines - do you know the next line?

"If I were the Marrying Type, Which......."

"Here's to the health of Cardinal Puff, for the ....and final time"

"On top of Old Smokey, where nobody goes.....".

For a bit of fun, you may know some more?

I remember at parties people singing the Cardinal Puff song. Then one of them would have to knock a huge glass of something alcoholic back.

I remember people singing. ...’Simple Simon Said’ and you had to do the actions!

Oh yes, and many many more.

The Engineers song for one.

I've got a few risqué books in the library/study including Count Palmiro Vicarion's book of bawdy ballads. It's still available as a reprint from Amazon.

You can say that now but how could you possibly prove it?

I used to know all the words to "There was a green eyed yellow idol ..." and "Eskimo Nell".
