Venice in a day

Whilst on holiday in Croatia in 2006 we took a day trip to Venice. When we reached St Mark's Square we were met with the amazing sight of St. Mark's Basilica! The beautiful mosaics literally covered the church.











This was our gondolier.......and we were unable to make him smile once!

Thanks Merz ........ it must be tiring for the gondoliers going up and down the canals all day.

Those are lovely - what a beautiful light that is, especially on a dull October day!
