$27m settlement

In the largest pre-trial settlement in U.S. history, the city of Minneapolis has agreed to pay the family of George Floyd $27 million dollars for the police killing of Mr. Floyd.
Obviously the city believes that to wait any longer, they would have to pay an even larger amount when Derek Chauvin will almost certainly be found guilty.

I wonder if the city of London will follow suit in the case of

Every day the police must deal with non-cooperative subjects. Unfortunately, some folks believe that the only reasonable answer is for the police to kill them... on the spot.
Zero danger for the cops when a subject is handcuffed. No matter. Just kill them.

They wouldn't have been awarded that if The Donald would still had been president...

That's what I thought. They seem remarkably generous with other people's money.

Why do they "need" 27 million anyway?

Are they basing it on the loss of his earnings?????
