Minx, do you find that the wildlife are quite used to people being around, and don't run away? Are you part of a larger group of safari people?

Hi Pixie, we went for an early morning walk and the animals ran away from us in fear. They picked up our scent. Strangely enough, they don’t run away from vehicles. They just move slowly some of the time. At other times, we manoeuvre around them eg. The Lions.

I am not part of a tour group, I just book walks and game drives or I drive my own vehicle. It’s a 4x4. Another three days left. Still holding out to see Leopard and Cheetah.

Hi Donkeyman! Today I visited in and around Skukuza. Tomorrow I’ll try Crocodile Bridge. Night game drive only yielded owls, porcupine, hippos and Elephants. My leopards and Cheetahs continue to elude me

Cheetah and leopard are always elusive, leopard particularly !
So you are concentrating on the south this time then?

Seems like you know Kruger well - impressive!
Yes, I’m concentrating on the South.
My next trip will be north - perhaps this year. We will see.
I’ve done central Kruger already.

Re: Kruger National Park, South Africa

This is the ever elusive Leopard. After 6 days of driving Kruger, I managed to see a Leopard mother with her cub. I am uploading these photos of her in the thicket so that you can see how well camouflaged she is. It’s extremely difficult to spot Leopard and Cheetah. I’m ecstatic that I captured her. I was so excited that I didn’t get the frame just right. I almost started crying! Please forgive me if ears and feet are not in the frame she was moving fast and there were cars around me.
