Are you suggesting that my basing my knowledge of SA through the 1964 film Zulu and bopping along to Free Nelson Mandela at uni isn't quite as comprehensive as it ought to be?

It’s just that there are times when I feel like chop.

I struggle to understand some common UK terms so if it’s Minx asking you to please explain the term, please do or I’m going to look so foolish. I’m lost in translation…

I’ve got half a brain - promise

Do you struggle with some terms/terminology?
Whatever "chop" is .....

Out the window (out the winda) well that's that idea out the winda.

Bread & Pullit - A sandwich with nothing in it.
And then there's 'bread and scratchit' - whatever's available to put on the bread you scratch it on then scratch it off again and put back in the pot/jar for the next day.

If you think you've got it bad re local dialects and lingo, try Wolverhampton and Birmingham. 14 miles separating the 2 cities, along with about 20 accents and 10 dialects.

Re: UK terminology/lingo

I am entertained and challenged daily by UK terminology and the lingo.

I have had many a giggle over what I thought they were talking about, then finding out differently.
