Re: Dominic Cummings to leave Downing Street by Christmas

I don't know what all the fuss is about because Cummings is leaving , I guess it is the media, remain voters and disgruntled civil servants having a moment of excitement because the person who has helped to calm down their excesses is leaving.

Cumming made it clear he wanted to leave long before the election and I understand stayed on to 'get Brexit done'.
Now he is doing exactly what he said he would do.

I am sorry he is leaving, I think he bought a fresh approach to the stuffy corridors of Whitehall where a shake up was long overdue.

I agree, Meg. Cummings has done a great job as Boris' adviser and sorted out a lot of the dead wood in the civil service, as well as the election victory and Brexit.

Just shows how afraid of him the left and the remainers are. Come Christmas there will hopefully be a cabinet re-shuffle and some new faces on the front bench to drive the party forward. If anything, Cummings leaving will do more to unite the party than divide it as the left seem to think.

After seeing the picture of the "Two Domes", I'm suddenly reminded of The Mekon, from the Dan Dare comics! He was a piece of work too!

Hi Bread I think a reshuffle would be a good thing, we need more experienced MPs to drive things forward once we have left the transition period and there is hope of a vaccine to revive the economy.

I liked what I saw of Cummings, he is a 'thinker' who gets things done.

There will definitely be a cabinet reshuffle Bread, but before Xmas?
The remainers in the tory party( 75% of them) are now going to
to take charge and create a brino brexit?
I am not sure if Boris will be part of this? He has always said he
wanted a deal??
Next week will tell when they meet Barmier again !! Allthough l
dont think we will be told anything untill january??

Re: Dominic Cummings to leave Downing Street by Christmas

Coincidentally:

Special adviser sacked by Dominic Cummings to receive payoff

https://www.theguardian.com/politics...receive-payoff

A special adviser who was escorted out of Downing Street by police on the orders of Cummings has been given a five-figure payoff by the government.

Sonia Khan, a former adviser to the then chancellor, Sajid Javid, is expected to receive the substantial sum after arguing in legal papers that the behaviour of Boris Johnson’s most senior aide, Cummings, was pivotal to her claim of sex discrimination.

The disclosure of a payoff just weeks before a tribunal was due to be heard will be seen as an attempt by the government to protect Cummings from further controversy.

Cummings, who sacked Khan last year after claiming she was leaking information, was identified in tribunal documents despite attempts by government lawyers to remove his name.

He was also at the centre of a £25,000 payoff to a civil servant in 2012.
Seemingly, amongst other things, The Dome (at that time) didn't have the power to fire Khan - only BJ could do that - he just took it upon himself, presumably because he prefers the company of men * .....

It's non-news.
Why?
Because paying somebosy off is cheaper than a protracted court cast.
Yes even with sums like that.

I'm not sure who I'd rather see get the money; the avaricious claimant or the avaricious legal profession.
