Re: EU Interference

I think if BoJo said OK let them have another referendum, Knickerless Fishface would probably jump for joy while all the more sensible people around her would be crapping themselves and running for cover because they know Scotland couldn't survive on its own.

Re: EU Interference

Sturgeon knows that once the UK/EU transition is over, the game is up for Scottish independence. The SNP were dead against EU membership about 25 years ago - they only changed their mind because Scotland would never vote to leave the UK and be isolated. Instead they positioned themselves as pro-EU to try and win support for their independence referendum when they finally got one in 2014 (and failed).

When we are completely away from the EU, Scotland would first have to leave the UK and then ascend into the EU provided they can meet its qualifying criteria. Even if they did qualify, it could take up to 30 years to ascend - which Scotland will simply refuse to vote in favour of.

Some of you thought so. Those who believed what they were told by politicians instead of doing a bit of reading. Or didn't you have libraries yet in the seventies.

No, actually, we did join the common market.

Your revising history again.

The main aim of the EEC, as stated in its preamble, was to "preserve peace and liberty and to lay the foundations of an ever closer union among the peoples of Europe".*

You're in denial of facts again.

Your talking about something else again.

You've not even replied to my post.

Pay attention and post something relevant - you might get a debate instead of bickering all the time.

We joined the common market in 1973.

I'm talking about the EEC, you about the common market, and:

After more than 10 years of negotiating, in 1973 the UK joined the European Economic Community (EEC) – also known as the Common Market.*https://www.historyextra.com/period/...-eec-when-why/

EEC and common market are the same thing, just different names.

It is NOT the European Union.
