Re: Small Savings Or Am I mean?

Tubes are far more expensive though so we stick to the powder easier to cook with too as the tubes have a slightly odd flavour when added to cheese sauce we find.

I love different types of mustard and buy 3 of them from Aldi, I use them in stir fry dishes, on jacket potatoes, sandwiches with cheese, I also coat sausages in them, they're very versatile for sure!

I'm glad you posted that - cos I have 4 different mustard jars in the fridge just because I wanted to try them all

I tried all of them on the first day (though I was already familiar with two)

I think I could go overboard with them and add to most things I like to eat!

Why Colemans & Branstons when there are alternatives at half the price that are just as good IMHO! stevmk2

I was always taught 'take a small amount and come back for more' and I do so I don't waste mustard or pickle.

I like Tewkesbury mustard with beef, it has horseradish in it too .

I'm cooking right now in my three tier steamer which contains potatoes, cauli, broccoli, white cabbage and on top, a gammon steak slathered in Dijon mustard, can't wait!

Re: Small Savings Or Am I mean?

The inner shelves on the door of my 'fridge are packed with relishes and condiments, the hot chilli ones are especially lovely with cheese and crackers. And have to agree, some alternative pickles are decidedly nicer, not to mention cheaper, than Branston (although their beans are lush), I especially enjoy Heinz mustard pickle, the sweet pickle Lidl sell, and Heinz Ploughmans. Love love love horseradish, but ain't it a bugger when it goes up the back of your nose and burns!!
