Farewell Rik Mayall.

Just heard of the tragically early death of actor and comedian, Rik Mayall at the age of only 56. Probably best known for his roles in 'The young ones' and 'Bottom'.

That is sad. It really brings it home to me when people younger than I die suddenly that our time here is limited....

The news said he died at home this morning but no further explanation

I just heard the news on BBC. How sad. I thought he was much younger than me but I now discover only by a few years. I really enjoyed his comedy in The Young Ones and Bottom with Ade Edmondson. Brilliant, anarchic and all so deliciously immature.

Heard but don't know why. My kids loved the Young Ones and his other shows.
Never my cup of tea either. Probably something to do with the head injury
he had on his quad bike 10 years ago. Could have had a heart attack because of it or a blood clot. We will have to wait and see. RIP Rik

Such a shame, I loved him in Blackadder as well as the other programmes. Wonder if it was something to do with the quad bike accident, no doubt we'll find out, eventually.
