I think for his age he still works fairly hard, he was also in the Navy I believe in his younger years so he hasn't just been sitting around all his life. I don't even think the Royal couple have particularly grand lives they seem quite down to earth and certainly stories coming out of the palace over the years sound like a fairly frugal couple.

Happy Birthday Prince Philip!

I admire his support to the Queen all these years, even at this grand age he is always there for her if his health permits.
