Olympic Games

Tickets for the Olympic Games went on sale today.

Are you interested enough to buy a ticket or are you an armchair viewer only?

My neighbour and her family went to the Barcelona Games several years ago and she said the atmosphere there was amazing.

Re: Olympic Games

Bah humbug.

Having the Games here was just another example of political vanity at the expense of the taxpayer, who now need to buy a ticket? Surely they should be given one gratis...

Re: Olympic Games

Hi Mags, Armchair I think not really a sports fan, I agree for someone who really enjoys sport to go to the Games would be magic.

Re: Olympic Games

One would need to take out a new mortgage, or get a huge bank loan to buy any of the tickets, at the prices that have been quoted. I'm fed up with the politicking, drug abuse, cheating and corporate excess, that seem to go hand in hand with the Olympics these days. Cynical yes, but thats the world we live in at present.

The atmosphere I imagine, would be amazing. Won't be purchasing a ticket though Mags, but will be watching from the armchair, especially the athletics and cycling events.....

Re: Olympic Games

It will be too expensive - and anyway I wouldn't go on principle because Seb. Coe is involved and I can't stand the man.

Re: Olympic Games

As a sport loving person in the past, NO.

The olympic games are now just political shows and not as they started out for the true amatuer sports person.

Re: Olympic Games

Am not sports orientated, and couldn't give a stuff about the Olympics or indeed any other 'sport', and Aerolor, you're right Seb Coe is an evil, greasy, little toe rag.

Re: Olympic Games

These days Sports are all about making money and that's not me. I do watch the Olympics but the last one, where those idiots were bloeing those stupid horns, really turned me off. If I were there & paid big bucks for tickets those fools would have their horns shoved up where the sun don't shine.
