The European Parliament still has until the end of April to ratify the trade and cooperation agreement.

If it does not do so and provisional application of the agreement is not extended, then the trade deal would cease to apply, leaving Britain and the European Union to trade on WTO terms with tariffs and quotas.

They will sign.[/QUOTE

If that unthinkable thing should happen, there will be millions of very unhappy people in this country.

It would be comparable to our having been conquered by the Nazis in the 1940s.

Most of us would never accept that and I can imagine an unheard of level of unrest and even rioting.

Re: Brino

Hi

The report is just plain wrong.

We have left, we are no longer part of the EU.

All this talking about large scale violence and rioting disturbs me.

The reality is that you would be up against professionals, and that is not a good idea.

Professional French soldiers? With white flags?

I'll buy a yellow jacket. That'll show 'em!

Hi

Nope, our professionals, you would not want to go up against them.

You would lose.

We very rarely use them, when we do, they win.

Following the news of the plenary vote, trade committee chair Bernd Lange said, “We did not make it easy for ourselves; we examined it [the TCA] in detail and ensured participation and control in implementation by the European Parliament.”

He said that the agreement provides “additional instruments to act against the misbehaviour of the partner.”
Whatever?

One comment:

Vote against it - you can't trust the English.

I agree. Those damned English are definitely not to be trusted. Look how they didn't send us all their Oxford/AZ vaccines, the bastards.
