I always take my shoes off and have a notice in my porch asking visitors to do the same. When visiting, I always ask if the homeowner would prefer me to remove my shoes. I think it's a sign of respect..................though I have had visitors who have absolutely refused to remove their shoes........they're not invited back!Re: Taking your shoes off.
I prefer visitors to remove shoes in the porch, with new rugs everywhere and new stair carpet. Sis has a pair of slippers kept here. For others, like tradespeople, I ask if they’d prefer over shoe coverings, and sometimes they’ll take their shoes off. I always ask nicely.Re: Taking your shoes off.
I always take my shoes off when entering someone else's house - it's automatic for me. I never wear shoes in the house and very rarely slippers. In the winter I wear socks indoors. (of course, it's important to keep your feet clean and not smellingRe: Taking your shoes off.
