You can buy a copy of the girl with the balloon for about £12, so with a bit of careful shredding you could be in the money.

The minute a piece of art sells (at the fall of the gavel), a contract exists between the buyer and seller (Banksy). He would have committed a crime in destroying the new owner's possession. Lawsuits against Bansky and the auction house would be sure to follow...

unless...

Bansky or a representative made the high bid. If so, good luck to him getting insurance or an auction house to work with him after such a stunt.

This is likely more "performance art" garbage, if you ask me.
