Spider !

Over Christmas school pet will be going home with one lucky pupil, I'm dreading hearing Grace has put her name down for Lilly the class tarantula ! Last year it was a bunny and I would have been happy to have him but he died in the summer holiday, glad I wasn't his host at the time !

I'm going to have to have a word with the teacher and try and take her name out of the draw I don't think I can cope with the idea of a spider in the flat.

My husband says I'm mean but I know my limitations with 8 legged creatures.

If I go silent over Christmas school holiday you know Lilly has come to us and I'm living in my car with no internet access

Re: Spider !

My school had no pets & Daughters had rabbits, we got one when they had babies. Son's school had gerbils, we got those one Summer, ruddy things escaped, what a palaver catching them. No more bringing home school pets.
I am so very glad none had tarantula's, imagine if that had escaped. I'd be in the garage.

Re: Spider !

There is no way I'd have a tarantula in my home, either, Julie, so understand your fear! Supposing you approach the tank and find it gone? Arghhhhh!!!

I don't think I would sleep for the whole time in was in the house. No No No, say No.

I would be checking every two seconds to see if it had escaped.

Don't blame you, Julie. I wouldn't have it either.

In fact, I would have thought they needed quite specialist care. Don't they have to be kept at a certain temperature as well?

We used to board the school rabbits and guinea pigs.
There weren't exotic pets at schools in those days.

Re: Spider !

I'm scared of all spiders, so I wouldn't have one in my home.

I was the School Pet Monitor, I had a small classroom full of animals i.e. two Guinea Pigs, one Rabbit, Grass Snake, Rough Skinned Lizard.

I think it's in a heated tank mups, tbh I've never been close enough to see, on open day they had to talk to us in the corridor I wouldn't go in the classroom with Lilly.much to Gracie's embarrassment.

Re: Spider !

You would need to buy some crickets to feed it with over the Christmas holidays .... I wouldn't think they ate turkey and mince pies
