why can't she keep her strong views to herself?
I think you will find that the court case revolved around May trying to use the Royal Prerogative (ie acting as the Regent/Queen) to implement Article 50 when any 10 year old with any knowledge of history would know that she could not. Not to mention the fortune it cost to take the case to the supreme court instead of accepting the decision of the crown court.
The court ruled that the government cannot trigger article 50 without an authorising act of parliament.
Lord Neuberger, the president of the supreme court, said in his summary of the decision, which the 11 judges reached by a majority of eight to three, that the government generally has a prerogative power to change treaties – but not if it will affect people’s rights in domestic law such as those acquired thanks to the 1972 European Communities Act when the UK entered the EU.
Do your own research to find when this came about but I think you will find that it was 1689.
These ideas reflected those of the political thinker John Locke and they quickly became popular in England.[2] It also sets out – or, in the view of its drafters, restates – certain constitutional requirements of the Crown to seek the consent of the people, as represented in Parliament.
Thank god for Gina I say
