Traffic free zones are a wonderful idea. York is one fine example in places. Reminds me of Las Ramblas in Barcelona, albeit without the weather to match.

Conway, IMHO, is missing a trick. It has a kind of ring road which goes around within the town's walls and makes the place mightily unpleasant for pedestrians. If this was removed, the place could become a lovely and thriving pedestrianised area and possibly lead to a whole new shopping and socialising area which I'm sure would boost the local economy and create additional jobs.

Since the opening of the estuary tunnel a couple of decades ago, this is entirely feasible.
