No of course it isn't. It's just there's more risk to older mothers - having a Downs Syndrome baby being just one of the risks.

Carol, l had a baby when l was forty and no problems.
My son and his partner who live in Australia have just had their first baby, she is 44 and he is 45. The baby is beautiful, healthy and thriving.
