Your soldiers being canadian and american? The english gave us a pass after monty's disaster at market garden.
If your idea of gaining freedom is leaving the EU you may be in for a surprise once you're out. But first you have to gather the courage to make that jump.

If I understand correctly, it is not the deal as such but the bill to turn the conditions of it into legislation. That will not go down easily. The last payment of the the £39 bln will be made in 2060. Untill that time there will be a relation between the EU and the UK.
