Pangbourne Scarecrow Trail

This is a lovely idea and something I'm going to take the boys to next week during 1/2 term; each shop/business in the village local to our office makes a scarecrow and displays it and the children have to walk around and tick off all they see.

Some are very creative, I'll see if I can get some pictures whilst down there later.

The link below shows one from a couple of years ago which was actually created by the marketing and design agency I used to work for back in 2001 . . .

Re: Pangbourne Scarecrow Trail

Every year they have a Scarecrow Day in a village near to me. Nearly every property have a scarecrow in their garden. They close the roads into the village for most of the days and they get 100's of visitors. Went last year for the first time-really enjoyed it and there didn't seem to be 2 scarecrows the same. Hope you all enjoy your day.

Apparently all the children of the village and adults are involved in making the scarecrows-bet they have fun doing it as well. Good way also of creating a community spirit which can only be a good thing these days

I think we miss out on a lot by living in a highly populated town ......when I was a child I always fancied living on a farm. I would have loved to have 'tasted' country life.

Know what you mean Mags-I could easily live in the middle of nowhere-peace, tranquility and serenity

On a Farm-oh no.......there'd be cows and as you know me and cows are not compatible
