My Dad was the funniest person I've ever known. Probably just crazy but really funny.I don't understand why people laugh at clowns, they're sinister, so are ventriloquists dummies, not funny at all.
Has anyone else got a "go to" film that always makes them laugh and cheers them up?
I put, "The Burbs", "The Money Pit" or "Pink Panther" movies on, Jim Carey films too are daft.

My Dad used to love watching "Road Runner". I remember him being in fits of laughter.
I have never found clowns or ventriloquist funny,but then I don't find any comedian on tv funny.
Just different strokes for different folks.

No ... seriously folks, I'm only here for the fun of it all.
.... the funny bits, light-hearted chat, that's me. Could never understand why there's so much religion & politics on this type of forum. But, if nothing else, it gives balance ... better than total funny bits, I guess.

I must have a warped sense of humour. Sorry if going off topic a little with this post. I know we are talking about our own sense of humour.With sincere apologies to our American friends on here, no offence intended but I have to admit I enjoy very few American comedies, although they have done some really good classics in the past such as Mash, Friends and Frankie & Grace on Netflix. Especially offputting when watching an American comedy on tv is when anything funny is uttered, in they come with the canned audience laughter. Groan!
On the plus side, they have made some excellent comedy films, and there is nothing to compare with their action films. (even if the special effects have been done by mostly British companies!)
As for British humour - I still watch again and again - Only Fools and Horses and Faulty Towers, and have enjoyed the series just finished recently - Mum.
I'm afraid the lefty comedy, which I believe they called Alternative Comedy- with the likes of Ben Elton and Jo Brand, was a complete turnoff for me. I failed to find one single moment of humour in their type of comedy
Not even meriting a smile, never mind making me laugh.
My brother often phones me to say, "Don't forget to watch "Mrs Brown", Yuk, I don't find him funny at all.
Help! do you think it's because I've morphed into an ageing old fart, that it's me that doesn't have a sense of humour any longer, or is it just that comedians and comedy just aren't as funny anymore?
