Re: "Marine A" sentence

Some of the replies on this thread prove that civilization truly is a very thin veneer.

I have very mixed feelings about this, and as none of us were walking in that soldiers shoes at that particular time to be able to judge the situation at that time fully.

But what you are saying here Nobaggage makes a lot of sense to me.

Sorry - it got a bit lost there - now I know where you're coming from .......
We can only go by the evidence put before us, I didn't like what I saw, or - what I heard but, I agree as others, it should not have been publicised ... Why not a closed court in cases like these ......

Re: "Marine A" sentence

I agree with the last 2 post how you judge a man who.s shoe you have not walked in , we go to bed warm and safe these lads dont, they are treated like animals and then we wonder why they behave in a way we feel is disgraceful
Id like to see some of you put into the life our lads have to live and see how you would behave its murder or be murdered manners and and normal life go out of the window, if you want blame to make you feel rightous blame our goverment who send them out there unequiped and with out proper support

Re: "Marine A" sentence

As this soldier is found guilty then so should Blair ..Brown ..and others in the last government ..these people took this country into an illegal war .and are responsible for the murder of thousands of people and have made millions of pounds from it ..they should be dragged to the Hague and charged with crimes against humanity
As far as Im concerned this soldier should be given a medal ,,,

Re: "Marine A" sentence

He murdered, he was 'found out' prosecuted and sentenced - all in the glare of publicity. What he did to that injured and incapable Taliban cannot ever be condoned, because by that act he placed each and every other soldier serving abroad, and even in this country at risk of being killed too. I'm sorry, but a sentence of 10 years for murder is not long enough.
