Through frugality, hard work and a fair amount of luck, I'm better off than most of my extended family - and I don't mind helping out from time to time .....BUT, I do tire of those (mainly on my wife's side) who think it's a bottomless pit and do little to help themselves.
Handouts to pay foreseeable bills, "loans" which are never repaid, items borrowed and never returned. Been going on for decades.
