Safe sex for teens -wot about over 50's

Three Essex teenagers have invented a condom that detects sexually transmitted diseases - it changes color if a disease is detected. I do applaud their initiative but it begs the question - how many teenagers bother to use a condom in the first place and then the mind boggles-

" excuse me Mavis for a moment just need to withdraw and check my condom color - oh dear sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mavis but you seem to have a disease!"

but when you consider the high level of sexually transmitted diseases in the elderly it could be a winner for us?

Brilliant kids...

I think a lot of kids are clued up about condoms and STD's..
Many older people sadly are not... In the USA one quarter of new HIV infections are in people over 50..
Its easy isnt it thinking the menopause has kicked in so no more accidental pregnacies why bother with condoms?

Because as they say, the STD doesnt mind how old you are!

I have to admit I never understand why over 50s don't take more care we survived the 80s when aids was such a killer so we should have educated our selves then about the STD out there.

Apparently std's are rife in the over 50's due to dating sites these days. They are liked kids in a sweety shop.

talk about us elders giving kids the wisdom of our experiences and then not acting on it ourselves!!

The very thought of kids even beginning to imagine us elders have any kind of sex life is a cringeworthy thought for them
