All so true Rena...especially your comment ... "I worry for our children and the sort of world they will live in"

Re: Synthetic Biology - A Big Question

The woman horribly burnt in the fuel accident last week may, if she survives, come to be thankful for modern medical science which can make synthetic skin.

Some scientists are now trying to clone organs for use in spare part surgery.

Re: Synthetic Biology - A Big Question

Since man first realised that he had grey matter between his ears, he has dabbled and experimented with things that could ease pain and give himself a better life...For instance, the 'discovery' that if he took a bite of the bark of that tree over there, it made his headache go away...they call it ASPIRIN today or another instance, a chemist called Fleming was dabbling in his lab' and, to cut a long story short, discovered peniccillin.
I for one, am delighted, that man is still working on making our lives better, either with intent or by accidentally stumbling on something he had no reason to believe would exist.
