Time Capsules

Sometimes I have thought about making a time capsule and tucking it away somewhere, the idea quite appeals to me, but I am not sure exactly how to seal it.
Has anybody here ever made one?
If you did, what treasures would you put in it for some excited person to find in the future?

Today, I would not make a Time Capsule, that is not to say that there was once a time when I would have made one.

I would like to do it SF. I can imagine how excited I would be to discover one from long ago, and I would kind of like to do that for someone else. Sort of give someone of the future a glimpse of what life today was like.

I would have left an analogue trace, but not a digital one.

Maybe I did not read your OP closely enough, there is something to be said with filling a vessel with material matter.

Not sure I would, it could call into question all I have been told of late.

I know my next door neighbour has put one in the cavity of the brick gate post. It'll be an interesting find for someone one day.

I would love to discover one though. Wonder how many HAVE been and what the contents were. ? Fascinating.

we did this when we were kids, we put in a copy of our favorite comic, one of each coin 1/4 1/2 penny 3d 6d shilling and Florine I put a bracelet in it, forget what my cousin put in and kitchen things like an old tin opener, with a letter saying the date and our names and ages then buried it in a corner of the garden, perhaps someone found it

I would put in lots of photos of the 50s and 60s - the best of times ....
The 'look' - the cars, furniture - ah ..... bliss
