Anyway, I said to my friend maybe Trump won't be good for the rest of the World but he may be good for the US, but with the trade war I am changing my mind. It's an amazing experiment in human psychology. Fascinating to observe.
yes it is all the big players before trump came had gotten use to each other in a way and were reasonably polite but trump is the new kid on the block and has turned the tables on everyone - so now it is gonna be real interesting in the ME ; south china seas ; SE asia etc etc - he's rather thrown it all out of kilter - I keep saying "we live in interesting times" - trump doesn't play it political he plays it business - and believes essentially that money talks

Who decided Trump's presidency will lead to the end of the US as a world power? Such hyperbole. He's not pressing buttons on people's wish lists - he's keeping his electoral promises. How many politicians can you name who have done that once they've parked their big arse in the seat of power?

The World is watching and judging ArtHeart. We are still allowed to judge are we not...? It's what humans do. Just like you are judging my opinion I am at liberty to judge yours. I see him pressing buttons you see him keeping promises. It's all a matter of perspective (and opinion).

You think that you can run a country as a business, gamble with it's future at the risk of going bust? Like a poker game....

Re: Returning America to a balanced republic.

There is a war raging within the United States between conservatives and the leftists, whatever their stripe. Not much bloodshed, yet, but that could change.

At stake is the political direction which America takes and ultimately it's fate.

We either stay with our traditional values OR we allow the leftists to take us closer to communism/socialism.

Currently, our children's minds are being shaped by extreme leftist ideology taught in the schools and universities. This, too, must change.

Conservatives believe that it is the sole right of the parents to determine how their children are being taught. Leftists believe the opposite. Leftists believe that it is the state which shall determine how children's minds are shaped. A frightening notion, indeed.

As an example of how bad it has become, it is now possible for a pregnant 14 year old to get an abortion, arranged by the schools, and the parents are NEVER consulted or even informed. Such arrogance !

Re: Returning America to a balanced republic.

In the final analysis, an American president should, and must, put the welfare of Americans ahead of any other consideration.

So should any nation's leaders. At least if they have any sense.

It would indeed be a strange country that did not put it's own citizens first.

Trump may rub some people the wrong way, but one thing is certain, he is keeping his promises to the people.

I agree. We have to find the news, and it definitely cannot be found in the evening news here in the U.S. While the fourth estate once reported the news, they now seem to want to incite news. It's big entertainment.

Beyond that, the paucity of international news in this country is appalling. It is an embarrassing fact that it takes effort to find out what is going on elsewhere in the world. My guess is that fewer than 5% of Americans could name the PM. 70% don't even know what the Constitution is.

Thankfully, virtually every high school, college, and university includes becoming critical readers and listeners (and learning rhetoric), in their curricula. I just hope they are paying attention.
