Do You Sit Outdoors?

Do you sit outside much this time of year? In the evening? Morning? What do you see?

Even when my daughter was hospitalized, I would literally kidnap her (the legality of it all was a nightmare so I would just roll her out when no one was looking and leave my phone number) and take her outdoors during the warm summer evenings to look at the sunset and the stars.

Living in god's own country I sit out all year round unless a westerly is blowing (in August). In winter when the sun goes down it gets too cold but 18/20' during the day is fine - my back garden faces north so it gets the sun all the time. In summer it is lovely when the sun goes down to sit out while the heat of the day dissipates.

I have a patio with a roof so you get shade and while the view is not perfect I can see the escarpment and lots of trees.

That sounds just fine, Bruce. You should post a picture if you have the inclination and time.

I had to take a beat and remember that your best sun exposure is north, while ours is south.

Yes, but not during the hottest part of the day. We like to sit out in the evening and talk and relax, often watch the sun set over the ocean. Caithness has some of the most wonderful sunsets in Scotland.

That depends on the midges! They can be brutal sometimes.

Yes, the midges are one downside, as is the Sun...…...reflecting off the Television screen.

Yes i spend loads of time outside, just about to start the Seawatching season, from August through to October.

Mainly trying to see rare and unusual seabirds that can pass our shores depending on weather patterns, that often include the tail end of hurricanes on your side of the pond.

Chances of Cetaceans and migration add too the day.

Plus you can get great skies at either end of the day for the Golden Hour.

Re: Do You Sit Outdoors?

I sit outside in the garden quite a lot and have a great view of ..the garden. However, it's a nice out there and fairly quiet. We're not overlooked by other houses.

When we first moved in, all that could be seen was trees. Some of those trees have been felled now though and the rooftops of other houses are visible. The garden still remains a little sanctuary from the outside World. High hedges each side in which birds make nests.

Just up the road is a canal and we often walk along the towpath or sit on a seat there. We're fairly outdoor types of people I suppose.
