Obviously if you are a couple you get two vehicles tax free.

Thanks Bruce, I thought I'd seen that somewhere.

Postage here recently went up to $1.10 (there is only one rate - though there are options) for up to 250gm to anywhere in the country (and it is a big country). However it could take up to 4 days. You pay extra for express postage - ie next day delivery.

Pensioners get an allowance of 50 concession stamps a year each costing 60c (30p) which is not a bad deal. I rarely use all my concession stamps.

That reminds me - I must go in to buy the rest of my concession books (5 stamps per book) my anniversary date is March and they don't roll over.

Brilliant!

What! I was a postman in SW1 in the mid 70s and got bugger all privileges (other than job and finish after second delivery)

Re: Royal Mail pull their usual annual stunt!

I remembered to go to the PO this morning to get the rest of my concession stamps before they reset me to 50 for the year. I was still owed 5 books (25 stamps). I am going to have to send more postcards!

Re: Royal Mail pull their usual annual stunt!

Your postman is just a leaflet/brochure delivery person, these days.

They are required to stuff your letter box with Pizza leaflets, and other rubbish, and you can't even get them to stop doing it by having "no junk mail" stickers on the door.

I keep mine and put them all in the red pillar box as I walk past!

If we all did that it might stop!
