I once heard him relate a wonderful anecdote on radio. He was in theatre at the same time as the Dracula films were released and had got there too early for rehersals so had to fill in some time. He went to the local cinema and, ironically, his latest Dracula film was on. He paid, went in mainly to keep warm, and the film started. Because you could smoke in those days, he got out a cigarette, but then realised he hadn't got a light. He turned around and asked the two girls behind him if they had a light.... Apparently the screams were quite something to hear!

I also remember as a child going to the midnight movies at a caravan park and seeing The Fall of the House of Usher. I actually screamed out loud. I've watched it since and it seems funny now.

Psycho, Halloween and Homicidal.
Though they seem almost like comedies now.

I can't remember all the detail Stephan . I know it was scary. Some students making a film about a witch disappeared and only their film footage was found . There was a derelict house with bloody handprints on the wall. I guess the witch gobbled them all up

Same here, I never made it to the end.

Meg I got a copy of The Legend of hell House, I missed that one when it was out so I'll have a look at it later.

The Shining is one of my favourite films but it still scares the life of me!
