Carry on forever?

All the ‘Carry On’ films were good for a laugh in their day, but why are we always bombarded with them one after another every few weeks on ITV 3? at least they could have they decency to give us some time to forget some of them, instead we know them all off by heart now, I think they have it infamy again.

Re: Carry on forever?

I have every Carry On film ever made on DVD, a few years ago the News of the World were giving them out free every week and I got the whole collection, when a film reaches that level it says it all.
What I can’t understand with some of these TV stations that survive on repeating old TV shows and films is that there is a wealth of shows and films out in the Public Domain—free to use for everyone, films that have not had their license renewed or the copyright ran out, so they become public property, why not draw from this free bank of material, there are literally thousands of well made old films out there to be had.

That's a good question, laziness perhaps ? they have these few to hand and it takes effort to find more ?

I agree with Jem. Even with the best will in the world, I can't keep laughing at the same jokes forever.
But I've also had enough of Harry Potter over and over, and every flippin' James Bond ever invented too!

I do like the Carry On soh, but don't watch them these days. That's when Netflix and Roku come in handy

Re: Carry on forever?

I hate these films. Always have and have never found anything remotely amusing in any of them. They need to be put together as one collection and buried in a vault somewhere to inflict misery to future generations.

I assume the constant repeats of these on TV is probably due to them being cheap to air and fills up screen time.

Re: Carry on forever?

I did have a laugh at Carry On Camping, when the gang arrived at the campsite and the notice said 'Asses must be shown'. Then at reception they were told that the manager was away for a P........

They do nothing for me either. I can't laugh at infantile jokes about body parts and farting - but that's just me, we're all different. If I see Night at the Museum repeated one more time though I might just scream (and not with fear at the dinosaur).
