I guess because they are cheap to put on and there must still be an audience willing to watch them, new viewers will come along and must appeal to youngsters.

I would rather watch them than some made to outrage reality show or a soap that repeats the same old drivel down the years, or a stage ,managed talent show. But i dont have TV now and i never miss it, just buy films that i know i like.
