tv programme first dates

Can't remember which channel but it's on at 10pm during the week. Set in a nice restaurant couples meet for a first blind date. I've watched this and shocked at the language and attitude of some of these young people. Crude language , disrespect towards the other date , I wonder how some of them manage to actually meet a decent other . Some like each other and appear as decent people , but others really amaze me with such bad attitudes and upbringing . Seems four letter words and crude remarks are normal today .

Your thoughts ?

I agree I am also a bit fed up with so many of these types of programmes the same faces appearing in them all. Big brother contestants turn up in most of them at times and it's not the nice contestants it's always the horrors

I don't bother watching programmes like these. The contestants are taking part purely for the 30 minutes of tv exposure to get themselves noticed. Sad lives I suspect.

I preferred The Undateables. Much more respectful and also touching.

Do they really have programmes like this?

Why on Earth would anyone really want to watch something like this?

The best thing to do with drivel like this is turn it off isn't it?! stevmk2

I think many do it simply to be seen in the hope the air time wasted will help to make them famous or further their career

Re: tv programme first dates

I’ve never watched it Susan, judging by what you’ve said about it I can only imagine what it’s like. Speaking from the mens angle, there’s no excuse to be rude or use bad language on a date, especially the first date. Maybe though it could be a good thing to find out straight from the start what the person is like, you could say to yourself, well if thats what he’s like when he’s supposed to be on his best behaviour God help me when he’s at his worst, I’m outa here.
