An odd thought

Just an idle thought . . .

If someone is hell bent on doing something, and will not be swayed no matter what, does that make someone Stubborn, or Determined?

What is the difference?

Re: An odd thought

Isn't it strange though, that if someone is ' determined' we often look up to them, perhaps even admire their tenacity.

Yet is someone is 'stubborn' we get cross with them and try to change their attitude.

They may be autistic. My grandson has a kind of autism and he cannot move on to something else until he does something over and over again. Poor lad.

If it's an old person they are probably set in their ways.

Stubborn - you might want to dissuade.
Determined you might want to encourage.
