I use buttermilk in scones and some bread but wouldn't like to drink it.
My grandchildren (aged 3 and 4) love olives they also like wasabi peas and other unchildlike things.
I worked in a bakery and we kept milk that had gone off for the scones...they were yummy!
I think it is a good idea to accustom children to eating different things...We weren't rich by any means but my mother would bring back small amounts of things I had never tasted before..e.g. lychees..passion fruit..

I agree Lilac my 3 grandchildren were all brought up on 'Baby Led Weaning' which is very messy but consequently they eat just about anything and everything .
