Black and White Puddings

What is the difference between a Black pudding and a White one.?

I know what a Black one is but what are the ingredients in a White one? Had both as a choice at my hotel here in the Isle of Man. Preferred the taste of the white one.

Hi Joy it doesn't contain pigs blood which gives black pudding it's colour.

That's spooky ... just had a similar conversation on (shhh.) another forum .... apparently white pudding is without blood !! Don't know if that's true - I've never seen white pudding on sale anywhere

My Nanna used to keep a pig and make black and white puddings , I could never eat them . White pudding is a bit like sausage made with pork and oats then simmered like black pudding.
When the pig was killed nothing was wasted...

White pudding is an essential part of a 'full Irish' breakfast and is very tasty.

First time i encountered White pudding when i worked in Glasgow,, it was ok but even stranger was Fruit Pudding, like a slice of cake with the traditional cooked breakfast.
