I agree Twizard. Shoppers have been brainwashed into believing that fruit and vegetables all conform to a particular size or shape, they should have been doing this all along.

There are all shapes and sizes at the farmers market and farm shops
Shock horror some of them have mud on too so unlike the 'washed' supermarket produce they will keep fresh for a reasonable time .

I think thats a great idea! Less food waste. More affordable food..and more sales for the stores! I would definitly buy them..it still tastes the same no matter the shape or size.

We gardeners have been using misformed fruit and veg for years............that's how things grow sometimes.

I thought some supermarkets already did this, I always buy the value veg and it's often slightly odd shaped.

Its funny how you soon forget that you used to buy fruit and veg loose and some of it even had muck on it.

We are so brainwashed now that everything is the same shape, clean and comes packaged.

It's the power of the supermarkets being manifested yet again. They are the big buyers, they specify what they will buy and, in some cases, even supply the packaging, so the product has to be the right shape and has to fit. Things will only change if enough people stand up to the giants and demand change.
