Your favourite kitchen assistant...

Soup maker - bread maker?
I have friends who swear by these but I've got neither.

Anybody on here use these machines - what do you think of them?

Re: Your favourite kitchen assistant...

My soup maker..a large pan and a fine sieve,
My bread maker..my hands
The latter is not strictly true, due to arthritis in my hands I can no longer kneed dough for hours so I do have a Kenwood Chef.
Other than that I don't like most gadgets

Our Panasonic bread maker is in almost daily use, but I don't see the need for a soup maker. The food processor is used quite a bit, followed by the small hand held mixer. The Kenwood Chef is only used for large bakes.

Don't have any gadgets as such, not a great one for baking or cooking but couldn't manage without the microwave. It really is my best friend!

Re: Your favourite kitchen assistant...

I don't have any gadgets either, yoghurt makers, rice cookers, bread makers etc have all passed me by or rather I suppose I've passed them by. I hate not using things that I buy and having them end up taking up space in a cupboard until you take it to the charity shop so not a gadget in sight apart from the microwave which I use daily but mainly for heating and defrosting.

Re: Your favourite kitchen assistant...

My breadmaker was in daily use until my son and daughter moved into their own homes, now it's on probably twice occasionally three times per week. I wouldn't be without my Kenwood chef either. Oooops nearly forgot, couldn't be without the microwave.
