Malcolm: "it happens every day in the USA and no-one bats an eyelid"

Pumicestone: "most of the perps in the USA are unknowns whilst this bloke was a "media star"

Counter ?

Simpson, Spectre and Longet .... all "media stars" in the USA.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

Murder happens everyday in South Africa too.
OJ Simpson murdered his wife and got away with it.
The point is
Justice should be blind.

On the other hand it might just prevent someone else doing the same thing knowing they can get away with it

I can't see any proof around the world that it actually works like that it seems to me people know they will die if caught so eliminate the witnesses and once they have killed one person they can only be executed once so go onto kill as many as they wish.

What we need is a system that makes it better to not kill anyone and if you do the punishments get worse if you kill two worse again if you kill three.

What we need/want is a solution. There isn't one as far as I can see.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

We never can, nor will, stop people from doing violence to each other, but by getting rid of guns held by individuals we can at least make it more difficult to kill each other in a mad moment of drunkenness.
