horrible weather here, rain driven by strong winds. It looks like a carpet of leaves has fallen overnight.

Actually it's not that bad, although it's been raining steadily through the night we don't seem to be having the strong winds that other members have mentioned.
I kinda like these dark rainy mornings, especially since I don't have to go out and deliver the post anymore, and they underline an abandonment of any outdoor jobs that had been planned, in favour of staying in the warm, with me and Maddie looking out the window watching all the dog walkers shuffling by with umbrellas and hounds with little jackets on....
I have been known to go and walk in the rain just for a change of scenery, it can be so refreshing and rewarding to come home and cast off your wet things and settle down clasping a hot bowl of soup between your hands....Not such a washout after all...

Hello everyone. It's a beautiful day here albeit very cold. Blue skies are lying about the temperature lol. After a slow recovery of my back I now have what seems like a trapped nerve in my leg. No idea what to do about that. The pain is excruciating as soon as I put my foot to the ground. Hey ho! I am sure this too will pass. bit later here for a good reasonPaul my elder son in Brighton had an overflowing gutter so went to sort that out.
Got home to see foliage from one of our gutter downpipes. Took a bit of getting out and had to use a longer end tube to get right down into the gutter.
Pulled out a earth and plant plug that would have gone as far as the first bend in the down pipe. another job I should have done a lot sooner. So glad I bought the Skyvac machine , saved me a bomb in having to get someone in
