Miniature garden

I know this probably won't appeal to many - if any - but I am thinking of making a magical fairy garden.

Ideas are still forming, so I can't tell you much yet, but it will probably be in a big-ish shallow bowl of some sort, with mystical characters and tiny animals and maybe a little pond?

What do you think? Am I losing the plot?

If I get round to making it when the weather is warmer, I will post a picture.

No you are not losing the plot! Its a fab idea and you should absolutely do it! A woman at the allotment has given over a third of her raised bed to something like this and it looks lovely. (no pond though....just little flowers and characters, and rocks etc) Looking forward to photos

Definitely go for it Mups! When my two were are school they had to make miniature gardens at home then take them into school where they were judged .....they were only 6 at the time. Mum's were allowed to help them. Mine were just gardens, no mystical characters though. I bought 2 small to medium cat trays to make then in. The kiddies made suggestions what was going in the garden and I helped them do it.

Being twins they both wanted the same thing! they both had ponds, a sort of greenhouse, a row of Kidney beans with sticks and all, vegetable patch with homemade veg (aka little balls of tissue paper cabbages etc).

It was great fun ..... I look forward to seeing your grown up version, it sounds exciting!

Re: Miniature garden

We used to make miniature gardens for the village fete when I was a little girl
Now my grandchildren do the same thing.
