Jellyfish smoothie anyone?

The robot jellyfish shredders

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-32965841

South Korea has a jellyfish problem and one way that might well work to reduce environmental damage is to SHRED them!

Well apparently they are a bit dumb anyway so why care?

Robots are being used once again in 'swarm' mode where they hunt the little buggers and slice and dice em.

Seems a bit nasty to me though.

Nice pic .

Strange creatures as they don't have a conventional brain but do they think?

Brainless jellyfish smarter than you might think
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/brainles...u-might-think/

I can't see the South Koreans being allowed to shred such creatures. Then again is it any different to harvesting fish? I suppose if they harvested them in a similar way and used them productively there wouldn't be an issue.

I know they're Gods creatures and all that but I dispise the things ever since I got a bad sting as a kid, I would not lose any sleep if McDonalds cornered the market for Jellyfish smoothies and they went into extinction.

Presumably the poor things are still alive when shredded so a painful death
sounds horrible to me...

My daughter was in Korea earlier this year and was served jellyfish as part of a traditional banquet. She said that it was just like salty jelly.

Meg - I think you're being a bit too anthropomorphic.

How how vile, there are probably too many because of something off balance in the environment, it sounds like something from a horror film.

Let's hope they feel no pain if they don't have a spine but I'm not a jellyfish. It still sounds sickening.

I hold some grudges,I will never meet him again but I rehearse my lines.

Hello are you an illegitimate jelly fish?

Why do you ask?

Because you are a spineless bastard
