nuclear power

If you support this form of 'clean' energy you could finish up with two heads! OR a collar and tie front and back!!

Re: nuclear power

Fukashima has been greatly played down. It has been leaking radioactive crap into the ocean ever since the disaster. That will have affected large areas of the sea life which in turn will have changed the established cycle of food chain. I wouldn't be eating fish anywhere on that side of the globe personally. There will likely be serious global consequences from the ocean pollution.

Nevertheless, nuclear power IS coming our way. Britain HAS to become self-sufficient energy-wise if it is to escape the insidious clutches of foreign energy exporters. For this reason the UK population needs to very much wake up and smell the damn coffee and quit moaning about things like fracking. We have tons and tons of valuable Shale Gas to be tapped into, so the UK needs to get fracking asap.

Meanwhile, there is going to be a huge PR campaign in regards to nuclear power. Why? Because for some time the Government and "powers that be" have had about 9 new reactors planned for Britain's coastlines.

This link provides details of some. I had a better link a year or so ago but can't find it now.

The UK will be a "sitting duck" for a major nuclear disaster, either accidental or via terrorist attack. Kinda worrying really !

Re: nuclear power

Realist, I happen to believe you're last paragraph about us being a 'sitting duck.' In fact, almost inevitable.
I have said before, that man will finish off man.

Re: nuclear power

chernobyl almost has faded into history and our collective memories. Nuclear power has often been touted as 'good clean energy source'

Yes it will 'clean' us up for sure.
